Physical Equilibrium has made me more comfortable and confident in the gym. The gym itself is a great space and overall very friendly environment. If you're looking for a true new yorker training experience, Eve Josephson will give your buns a workout, while discussing your favorite pastry/dessert shops and photos of your pets.

I’ve been working with Kendra Madigan since the summer and can’t recommend her enough! I came to her looking to get back in shape. She assessed my goals and where my body was and put me on a plan that has me feeling stronger and more aware of my body and how to train it. Each workout is different with a combination of weights and treadmill to focus on a range of muscles. I consistently learn new exercises and am able to apply them on my own in between sessions.Kendra is also incredibly nice and encouraging which makes our sessions a highlight of my mornings!

I have been seeing Eve at Physical Equilibrium for a few years now and have never felt better. The workouts she puts together are challenging but fun, and she varies them every few weeks. I used to dread going to a trainer and now look forward to my 2x a week. I feel the strongest I've ever been. The gym is also very conveniently located, with great equipment.

Kendra Madigan is a total game-changer! She got me into the best shape of my life for my son’s wedding over a year and a half ago, and I'm still training with her today! Her workouts are always different, keeping me engaged and challenged in the best way. Kendra's attention to my form and posture makes a huge difference in how I feel day to day, and it's helped me see amazing results. Her advice on nutrition and wellness ties everything together perfectly. If you're serious about your goals, I can’t recommend Kendra enough!"

I wanted to highly recommend Kendra Madigan as a trainer. She is hardworking, knowledgeable, and makes strength training very efficient and a lot of fun! I look forward to our 7am workouts at Physical Equilibrium (conveniently located in midtown next to my office!).

I’ve been working with Sara for 2 years now. When we first started working together, I was starting basically from scratch, returning from injury. Since I’ve been training with Sara, I’ve finished multiple half marathons, Philadelphia’s Broad Street Run, and my first full marathon this past January! Most recently, I ran a personal best by over 15 minutes in the half marathon, all due to her guidance! As a masters runner, I’ve been able to keep achieving goal after goal without injury with Sara’s plans. Her training plans are well rounded, including plenty of cross training and strength training. She listens to me and helps tailor my program to what I need! I’m so grateful for Sara’s guidance in achieving running goals I never thought possible for myself!!

I couldn’t have completed my Ironman without Sara’s incredible guidance and support. When we first started working together, I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to pull it off. Her belief in me, paired with her detailed and structured training plans, pushed me to achieve more than I thought possible. She knew exactly when to push harder and when to focus on recovery, always tailoring everything to my specific needs. Sara’s expertise, encouragement, and unwavering dedication made all the difference, and I’m beyond grateful to have had her in my corner throughout this journey!!!

I've been working with Sara for the last few months and she has been great! I just completed the Ironman Maryland and was able to surpass my goal, qualifying for the world championships. Sara was instrumental in helping me get there. She took the time to understand my goals, create a custom plan tailored to me and was there to adjust or talk if anything changed. I highly recommend her. She also introduced to me Marisa (PT) who was very helpful in rehabbing me when I had a calf strain 3 weeks before the race. Thank you both, Sara and Marisa. Look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in the future.

I’ve been coming to Lift Club at Physical Equilibrium for about a year now. The trainers are super knowledgeable, and I always learn something new at every session. As a 30 something year old woman, getting into weight lifting and finding the right gym can be intimidating, but this place is anything but. Everyone is welcoming, and the space is very clean with top of the line equipment. It’s never too crowded. Lift club is small group personal training, but you still get a lot of one on one attention. They also do personal training. The trainers really care. Sara and Zach are excellent, but you really can’t go wrong with anyone here. I’m so much stronger and healthier than before I started coming here.

I have been so pleased with my time training at Physical Equilibrium with Zach. He has gotten me where I hoped to go in terms of all body conditioning, plus some! I am able to run, hike, or climb without fear that my aging body will break down. Thank you, Zach! I have also gotten to know many of the other people at PE. It is such a lovely community inside of a fantastic facility. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Physical Equilibrium is my go to for a great workout! Lift Club is the perfect environment for small group training. Sara, Zach and all of the instructor focus on form while pushing me to get the most I can out of the work out. The work outs are customized depending on my weaknesses, what areas I would like to focus on and taking my current ailments into account. After about a year of training, I feel stronger than I ever have. Can not say enough about how great the team at PE is!

Have worked with Sara at PhysEq for a few years now and she has helped me achieve many different goals: Boston Qualifier, the Boston Marathon, my first two 70.3 Ironman, my first 140.6 Ironman and the New York City Marathon. These were all huge milestones for me and I believe Sara gave me the tools I needed to level up in distance running and endurance sports. Along with the training plans, she’s very responsive via text or phone with any questions I have regarding training. Through PhysEq I was connected with a great endurance dietician (Clare) and a great PT (Marisa).

I have had a great experience taking Pilates at PE with Amelia Bonvento. She is an excellent teacher with obvious understanding of Pilates and how it can be used as a tool to improve both flexibility and strength. Amelia thoughtfully plans each session so that the exercises build on the last session but are always innovative and never repetitive. Each week I feel like I am making progress in my routine and also challenging myself while enjoying the workout which is an ideal combination!In addition, the PE facilities are friendly, well run, and extremely clean which is very appreciated.

Physical Equilibrium has top notch trainers in a well designed, pleasant and clean environment in Midtown. Boutique feeling with personal attention. They are centrally located but if you prefer, they also do house calls. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a personalized, results-driven approach.

Physical Equilibrium has been great for my physical and mental health. Through training with Zach M I have been able to strengthen my entire body and can feel the results every day! Zach challenges me during personal training workouts to push my boundaries while still maintaining safe bodily metrics. Thanks for making me feel so good!

I could not be more grateful to Dean Geller as a personal trainer! I started working with Dean as a post-rehab trainer, coming out of PT after my 2nd shoulder surgery. He has done an incredible job keeping me on track, progressing safely and at exactly the right pace for me. He thoughtfully plans each session, but is quick to adapt and truly tuned into what’s best in the moment. I always look forward to our sessions, and it feels amazing to be getting so strong in a safe, fun and sustainable way. I would highly recommend Dean for personal training.

I've been strength training with Sara Dimmick, co-owner of Physical Equilibrium, for more than five years and it is a wonderful facility with fantastic instructors and equipment. I love it's small size ... definitely not a gym factory! Sara has over twenty years of experience and trains all types of athletes, in particular triathletes and marathoners. I'm an endurance cyclist and given my long hours on the bike, strength training is key to having a strong core for stability and of course lower and upper body strength to tackle the miles and the climbs. Sara also works extensively with clients with injury rehabilitation. The gym has a wonderful sunlit Pilates and yoga studio as well and private rooms for massage. I highly recommend Physical Equilibrium for its personalized service and extremely talented trainers!

I love PE! Zach creates workouts that challenge me but are still manageable. He pushes me to try my hardest while emphasizing safety and injury prevention (so important for runners!). I have better upper body and core strength now. And I’ve been intimidated by Pilates in the past, but Amelia makes it accessible and fun! My posture has improved. I always leave PE feeling energized and excited and just the right amount of muscle soreness.
