Sara and her team are the best trainers in the city. I’ve tried many over the years, and none surpass their level of expertise and professionalism. If you’re looking for results - whether you’re an endurance athlete, runner/triathlete, longtime gym-goer, or just getting started on your fitness journey - you’ll see real improvement towards your goals.

Sara is incredibly knowledgeable and knows how to push you to improve while still making you feel safe and supported. I originally went to her while dealing with a marathon training injury, and she helped me rehab effectively while also building the foundational strength I needed to get stronger overall. Her approach combines strength training for runners with Pilates-based core work, and it has made a huge difference in how strong and supported I feel. For runners and triathletes, she also creates training programs that support your goals outside of the gym.

The other trainers are also super friendly, skilled, and encouraging. Besides personal training, they offer Lift Club classes on weeknights and weekends with max 4 people, so it feels like semi-private training. You get a great workout along with form correction and individual attention. Shoutout to Farrel for an awesome Saturday morning class!

On top of that, the facility itself is great: a nice building, a clean space, and amenities like showers and lockers. I’m so grateful I found this place and have the chance to work with such an amazing group of trainers. Thank you Sara and team!

I do Pilates with Chrissy for the past 18 months. She is such a great teacher and an incredible human being. She really helps her clients because she cares. The pilates has changed my life. The facility is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend Chrissy for your Palates experience.

This is a review of Chrissy Schultz….a seriously great Pilates instructor at Physical Equilibrium. I do a lot of different sports and workouts…but…for a long time…was reluctant to try pilates. I dove in with private sessions with Chrissy. I have really gotten so much out of them….core…flexibility and strength. Chrissy really pushes you in a good way. She is very keen on appropriate form, and she is always mixing it up to keep it interesting. This has helped me tremendously for all of the active things that I do and want to keep doing.

I went from casually running 2 miles twice a week—with a 5K being my longest race—to completing the NYC Marathon in just seven months. In March 2025, I committed to running the marathon while fundraising for Red Door Community, a nonprofit cancer support organization. Sara crafted a personalized training plan that went far beyond running—it included cross-training, core work, and strength training, all tailored to my needs and schedule. I’ve been working with Kendra Madigan since the summer and can’t recommend her enough! I came to her looking to get back in shape. She assessed my goals and where my body was and put me on a plan that has me feeling stronger and more aware of my body and how to train it. Each workout is different with a combination of weights and treadmill to focus on a range of muscles. I consistently learn new exercises and am able to apply them on my own in between sessions.

I’ve been coming to Lift Club at Physical Equilibrium for about a year now. The trainers are super knowledgeable, and I always learn something new at every session. As a 30 something year old woman, getting into weight lifting and finding the right gym can be intimidating, but this place is anything but. Everyone is welcoming, and the space is very clean with top of the line equipment. It’s never too crowded. Lift club is small group personal training, but you still get a lot of one on one attention. They also do personal training. The trainers really care. Sara and Zach are excellent, but you really can’t go wrong with anyone here. I’m so much stronger and healthier than before I started coming here.

Physical Equilibrium is my go to for a great workout! Lift Club is the perfect environment for small group training. Sara, Zach and all of the instructor focus on form while pushing me to get the most I can out of the work out. She is an excellent teacher with obvious understanding of Pilates and how it can be used as a tool to improve both flexibility and strength. Each week I feel like I am making progress in my routine and also challenging myself while enjoying the workout which is an ideal combination!

I love it's small size ... definitely not a gym factory! Sara has over twenty years of experience and trains all types of athletes, in particular triathletes and marathoners. I'm an endurance cyclist and given my long hours on the bike, strength training is key to having a strong core for stability and of course lower and upper body strength to tackle the miles and the climbs. Sara also works extensively with clients with injury rehabilitation. The gym has a wonderful sunlit Pilates and yoga studio as well and private rooms for massage. I highly recommend Physical Equilibrium for its personalized service and extremely talented trainers!

I love PE! Zach creates workouts that challenge me but are still manageable. He pushes me to try my hardest while emphasizing safety and injury prevention (so important for runners!).
