A Dynamic Duo of Health and Fitness: Sara Dimmick and Sarah Currie
In the bustling heart of New York City and the serene landscapes of the Hamptons, two remarkable women have joined forces to create a fitness sanctuary unlike any other. Sara Dimmick and Sarah Currie, co-owners and partners of Physical Equilibrium, are the driving force behind a fitness revolution that’s transforming lives.
Sara Dimmick, an athlete with a diverse background, found her passion in personal training and endurance sports after a short-lived career in dance where she graduated from Florida State University on a performance scholarship. Since moving to NYC in 2000, she has dedicated her life to personal training and coaching, specializing in post rehab personal training and coaching clients for triathlons and running races. Her own journey as a beginner triathlete started in the early 2000s and inspired her clients to start racing, pushing her to obtain a USA Triathlon coaching certification to coach them. Over the years, Sara has successfully coached individuals and groups in triathlon and running races, with many achieving national and even world competition qualifications. She founded Physical Equilibrium when she realized the big box gyms weren’t servicing her clients in the ways they needed. She had a vision of creating an integrated wellness center where clients could get all their fitness and wellness needs met in one place. Sara’s focus on injury prevention and post-rehab fitness sets her and Physical Equilibrium apart, ensuring their clients stay injury-free and excel in their fitness endeavors.
Sarah Currie is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and personal trainer, deeply passionate about helping clients achieve strength and leanness through proper nutrition and weight lifting. Her journey began lifting weights in high school and she saw the benefits from a young age. Her vertical jump increased, improving her volleyball and basketball games. She got stronger, leaner and faster thus earning a track and field scholarship to the University of Puget Sound where she learned to power lift while earning a degree in Business Administration. This was just the beginning. She competed in numerous endurance events and has completed more than 10 triathlons, two marathons and one century ride as she went on to earn an M.S. in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and completed her Dietetic Internship at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. In the following years, Currie shifted her sights to body building. She has returned to her roots as an avid weight lifter and has participated in a local figure competition. With experience in various clinical in-patient and out-patient settings, Sarah’s private nutrition practice combined with her training background allows her to dedicate the time it takes to improve her clients’ lives.
But the duo’s partnership goes beyond their individual expertise; it’s about synergy. They’ve been working together since 2006 and formalized their partnership in 2011 to develop what Physical Equilibrium is today. Sara Dimmick’s knowledge in the body’s movement and endurance racing complements Sarah Currie’s proficiency in nutrition and strength training. Together, they’ve created an environment where clients can truly change their lives. Choosing to have both their wellness centers in NYC and Hampton’s focus on post rehab draws many types of clients who might be transitioning from physical therapy or just want a place to go where injury prevention is the focus. In both locations Physical Equilibrium has partnered with complimentary practitioners like sports medicine physiatrists, physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists to offer their clients a complete wellness experience.
Physical Equilibrium isn’t just another fitness center. It’s a sanctuary where real transformations occur and real people achieve real results. Whether clients are rehabbing from injuries, seeking performance improvement, embarking on weight loss journeys, or simply adopting healthier lifestyles, Sara and Sarah and their team of trainers and practitioners are there to guide them every step of the way.
Their unwavering commitment to their clients’ well-being shines through in the atmosphere they’ve cultivated at Physical Equilibrium. It’s a place where individuals can thrive, where their goals are not just achievable but exceeded. This dynamic duo is setting a benchmark for the health and fitness industry. In a world where health and fitness have never been more vital, Sara Dimmick and Sarah Currie are leading the way. Their partnership isn’t just dynamic; it’s transformative, and it’s inspiring individuals to pursue healthier, happier lives.
