Looking for a personal trainer?

Physical Equilibrium has an experienced team of personal trainers ready to coach you toward your fitness goals. We assess your current fitness level and take into account past and current injuries and health issues, then design an exercise and fitness program that is right for you. You can come to our gym at 515 Madison Avenue in New York City’s Midtown Manhattan, our East Hampton location at 11 Railroad Avenue, or we can come to you at your at residence/office gym, or outside in one of the parks. If you are not local, or are traveling often we can provide virtual training on zoom, FaceTime or another platform. 

The Initial Fitness Assessment

Our certified training team conducts an initial fitness assessment to determine your strength, endurance and flexibility levels.

Tests we can perform as part of your initial assessment are:

  • Body Composition (using our InBody machine)
  • Resting and Exercising Heart Rate Zones
  • Muscular Strength assessments
  • Endurance assessments

We also take into account your current and past injuries and health issues. The assessment is used to create a personal training plan specific to your body type, fitness level, and goals.

Goal Setting, Exercise and Tracking

Once a fitness plan is mapped out, we help you to:


  1.  Establish long and short term fitness goals such as overall weight loss, decreasing body fat, increasing strength and/or muscle mass, and building cardiovascular endurance.
  2. Customize a workout program that maps to your goals and ability, which may incorporate traditional strength training, functional training, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility or other recovery methods. We also advise you on what to do those days you don’t see us and encourage you to incorporate other wellness initiatives into your plan such as nutrition, hydration, sleep, and de-stressing methods.
  3. Track your fitness progress and goals. We take responsibility for your progress and make the necessary adjustments to ensure you are getting the results you expect. We retest and assess at appropriate intervals to check your progress.
